Mobile EEG for long-term, at home monitoring and modulation of sleep

Bring the sleep lab into the home

It is time to translate the extensive knowledge on sleep gained through decades of laboratory-based sleep research into clinical applications. Promising neuromodulation approaches, such as Targeted sleep modulation with auditory stimulationPTAS project, which can modulate sleep electrophysiology and have been shown to influence sleep-dependent memory and learning processes, are now ready to be evaluated in long-term, at-home trials.

The effect of auditory closed-loop stimulation on sleep and behavior in patients with epilepsy

Initial laboratory-based proof-of-concept studies  Epi project have demonstrated encouraging results; however, their clinical relevance and utility can only be established through prolonged use in naturalistic settings.

Accordingly, the goal of this project is to develop mobile EEG technology that can be self-applied, enabling long-term monitoring and modulation of sleep in the home environment.
