    The aim of the retreat was to foster familiarity among the KJPP research groups, including the new groups led by Mirella Manfredi and Nathalie Giroud, to strengthen collaboration across groups, and to develop a shared research vision for KJPP.

  • Neurodiversity & Cognition

    The Neurodiversity & Cognition Lab at the KJPP is new. With the SNSF Starting Grant of around CHF 1.8 million, Mirella Manfredi and her team are researching humor in adolescents on the autism spectrum.

  • NeuroCommLab

    Neuroscience of communication, language, and cognition

    Newly affiliated with the KJPP is the NeuroCommLab, headed by Professor Nathalie Giroud.

  • Mädchen_Handy

    The KJPP is involved in the European Horizon research project on the problematic use of the Internet by young people.

Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry

In addition to its clinical work, the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Psychotherapy (KJPP) is intensively involved in research into various disorders affecting children and adolescents.  With our basic and applied research, we aim to advance our knowledge of the mechanisms of mental disorders. 

We investigate the causes of mental disorders in children and adolescents. The central aim is to conduct multimodal research into mental illnesses and, building on this, to apply the latest research findings to patient care.
