Neurostimulation of reading areas in the brain using tDCS

This study, conducted as part of the transdisciplinary research network NCCR Evolving Language, explores whether transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) can improve cognitive skills involved in reading and how it affects brain activity and connectivity.
tDCS is a non-invasive and safe technique that uses a weak electrical current to stimulate specific brain areas. Our goal is to strengthen the brain's reading network using tDCS and, thus, enhance cognitive processes involved in reading. Additionally, we examine how tDCS influences brain activity during reading to better understand the reading process and the effects of this intervention on the brain. This research contributes to the development of tDCS as a potential treatment for reading and spelling disorders, such as dyslexia.
